The Law Office of Kurt W. Carpenter PLLC was founded in 2020 as an innovative law firm focused on representing small businesses and contractors in the North Houston area. He is invested in offering legal services and representation informed not only by a long history of legal work, but also by his principal’s experience as a small business owner in the oilfield industry.
Kurt’s experience with operating a small business, combined with his focus in business law, real estate & construction law, commercial law, and estate planning, means that he is able to meet business owners and contractors on an even level while providing legal counsel tailored to their common and uncommon needs. As a lawyer, Kurt’s experience is diverse with a focus on providing quality legal counsel for small businesses and his areas of representation.
As a longtime resident of the Woodlands and North Houston area, Kurt is intimately familiar with the Houston and Texas codes and legal standards concerning the majority of small business and construction or real estate considerations. As each state, city, and even county may have different standards and legal requirements for similar businesses or operations, it’s important to work with a lawyer that knows both the national and local laws and proceedings for your area of concern.
Kurt spent the first six years of his career focused on commercial litigation in Houston, Texas. Afterwards, he transitioned to the business world and managed a successful international oilfield supply and service business for over fifteen years. As such, Kurt not only knows how to operate a business but understands what a business needs from its legal counsel: results.
After graduating from Baylor University in 1997, Kurt went on to achieve his law degree at South Texas College of Law and became a member of the State Bar of Texas in 2000. Kurt is a member of: the Construction Law, Business Law and Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law sections of the State Bar of Texas; the Houston Bar Association Construction Law Section; and The Woodlands Bar Association.
